About

Dixie Dog Rescue was started after years of unofficially rescuing dog that were abandoned at area dumpsters. The original idea was to be a Pit Bull rescue, but with so many animals in our area in need, we decided not to concentrate on just one breed.

Our rescue was named after our beautiful girl, Dixie. She was found as a small puppy, out in the country. She is a sweet, loving girl who shows people how wonderful a Pit truly is! Our other four legged family members include:
Rebel, a pit mix who is a big goofball. Always in to something and always under your feet! :)

Chica, a min pin/chihuahua mix who has attached herself to us and didn't do well when she was adopted. So we made her a part of our family instead.

Bracken, who came from an animal control facility and was scared of his own shadow. He is now a happy guy who loves to run and jump. I strongly suspect he has some greyhound in him. :)

Boxer, a corgi mix who loves to lay his head on you and cuddle.

Brooky, a hound mix who ended up in an animal control facility after being overbred and abused. She has finally learned to trust and loves to walk!

We also have as many as 20 rescue dogs in residence at any given time. Our adoptable dogs can be viewed on our available dogs page. Your new best friend is waiting for you!
